We have a long history supporting enterprises in the ‘eco’ sector, particularly in recycling.

The company's first involvement with recycling was nearly 20 years ago - and was an audit of the promotional strategy and communication processes of Alcan Aluminium Can Recycling to increase the recycling rate of aluminium drinks cans.

Since then various of our consultants have worked as consultants and practitioners in establishing new ventures, turnarounds, rebranding, feasibility studies, supply chain reviews, market research, new product launches, communications and business development.

One of our senior consultants in this field - David Bloomfield - has run a recycling business, turned round another complex recycling, reuse, remanufacturing venture, managed government funded projects, won investment and a Queen’s Award for work in the recyceling sector.

We understand the complexities introduced when the supply chain is inherently variable and cannot deliver ‘raw materials’ to an agreed specification at a given time or place or in predictable quantities.

We are able to effectively support all aspects of eco-business, from strategy to marketing and business development, confident that we have probably tackled a similar assignment before.

We know what works and why; equally we know what doesn’t work and why. We know that conditions are constantly changing at both the macroscopic and local level so an old solution may no longer work.

We have completed over 20 projects funded by Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) for enterprises recycling a variety of different materials:

We developed and wrote the copy for a WRAP publication Guide to Marketing Recycled Wood Products and completed two research studies for WRAP into the attitudes to the use of recyclate in paper hygiene products and a mapping exercise of the recycled tyre industry.
